You are taking NIL at face value and the ridiculous


“cannot provide recruiting advantage” line which is the biggest farce ever. There will be zero control/accountability on the NIL payments. For SEC schools to get a recruit over one another, for example, they will have to prove they will get compensation via NIL. To do this they will have to have a network of businesses to pay them and boosters will have to divert some of their money from general athletic department contributions to these businesses.

How “bad” this is depends on your viewpoint. But it will drastically change things for better or worse. The more money an AD has flowing in now, the more they will benefit from this, IMO. I think some of the rabid fan bases will even up their $ game when they know they can basically help buy a certain recruit rather than throwing it into a big pot.
